The South and Mid West Community Development Support Agency:
The Mid West Community Development Support Agency was established in 1996 under the Department of Social, Community & Family Affairs to provide support to Projects operating within the region.
In 2004 the Mid West Community Development Support Agency proposed a tender for consideration as a support agency for the south west region (to incorporate counties Cork, Limerick, Kerry, Clare and North Tipperary) to the Department of Community Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs.
This tender was accepted and in 2005 the Agency changed its name to the South & Mid West Community Development Support Agency. The Agency is a non profit organisation which currently provides support to 57 groups. This includes 32 Community Development Projects and 25 Family Resource Centres.
